About the Author

Kelly Anderson's documentaries include My Brooklyn (2012) and Every Mother’s Son (2004, with Tami Gold). Her work has been screened on the PBS series POV and on HBO, and she was nominated for a national Emmy Award. She is a Professor in the Department of Film and Media Studies at Hunter College, City University of New York.

Martin Lucas is a documentary filmmaker and educator with over 30 years of experience making and speaking about documentary worldwide. His most recent film, Hiroshima Bound (2015), is a personal exploration of coming to terms with the Atomic Bomb. He teaches�in the Department of Film and Media Studies at�Hunter College, City University of New York.

Mick Hurbis-Cherrier teaches film production and screenwriting at Hunter College,�City University of New York. Professionally, he has worked as a screenwriter, director, cinematographer, and editor. He is the author of Voice & Vision: A Creative Approach to Narrative Film and DV Production 2nd ed. (Focal Press) and the coauthor of Directing: Film Techniques and Aesthetics, 5th ed. (Focal Press) (with Michael Rabiger).

I had bought the original book back in 1987 while I was in college taking refrigeration mechanics and this book is the basics of electronics taught in a easy to learn format. Since reading this book I continued to learn electronics till I was able to do TV, stereo and amplifier repair. I also have built many hi gain tube amplifiers since the first read of this book. This book is a good starting place.

For my Ethics Class at Santa Fe College Gainesville

This book was assigned for my Ethics course at Santa Fe College in Gainesville. It is a difficult read as it is basically just an anthology of essays (at least the first few chapters). Some translated, some just formal old English, and obviously the issues being covered are a little deeper than your normal academic textbook. Personally I am not a fan of this as an introduction to Ethics, but I suppose if you've had some exposure to reading a little bit of philosophy previously, you might enjoy it more. The book was in decent shape for the price and arrived quickly.

OK for a textbook

This book was needed/used for a college Philosophy class. Most of the text contains information regarding many different philosophers with excepts from different papers that they have written. A few things that I don't like about the book: no index and very little reviews/critiques on what the authors are saying. Many of the articles were written several hundred years ago, so difficult in many instances to interpret. Unless you need this book for a particular class, you may want to consider another choice.

Full of Wrath

By far the best book in the series so far. It started out very slow, especially after the surprising ending in Wasserman's 3rd book in the series, Pride. Of course it was not slow for long with ongoing scenes building up to a very surprising ending. The book deals with more issues than the other three. I love the realationship status between everyone. Kaia and her bizzare realationships with Powell and Reed. Harper, Beth, and Adams, weird connections. And Miranda and her on-going crush on Kane. In this book Harper is very much alone after Adam and beth found out what happened. With her only friends being Kane and Kaia. Kaia deals with her realationships with Reed the scruffball and Powell the French teacher. Miranda and Beth team up for this book to get their wrath out on (mainly) Harper and the rest of the gang who screwed them over.There is also a weird and unexpecting realationship betwen Kane and one of the girls(Very Surprising!)! Adam is just laying around after realizing his life has amounted to nothing but being alone.
I love how Wasserman keeps the reader on the edge of their seat, turning page after page to see what will happen next. Normally it is very hard to read about seven main characters and keep everybody straight, but Wasserman does a great job (again!) with connecting everyone and keeping everyone unique!
I love this book and I encourage everyone to buy this book and the rest of the series. These are some of my favorite books!
With such a twist at the end I cannot wait for the rest of the series!

I love these books. I can't believe there aren't more reviews for them. They are definite guilty pleasures, and I wasn't expecting to like them this much. They're miles ahead of Gossip Girl or any of those types of books, in terms of writing and character development. Also, each book is as good, if not better, than the last. I'm not saying they're great lit or anything, but they are very entertaining. And I really enjoy the relationships between the characters. After the ending of Wrath (not what I was expecting at all), I'm pretty much dying for the next installment.

Great Book With A Surprising Ending

I just finished reading the fourth book in the Seven Deadly Sins Series " Wrath" and I just loved it, it keeps you guessing and I really loved the potential of Reed/Kaia and what happens to Kaia and Mr.Powell too, the evil jerk that he is. Someone dies but we won't find out till the next book. I still can't stand Beth and Miranda the most useless characters in the series. Still love Harper and Kaia and KAne and Reed.

Moonlight and Roses: Romance in the midst of vineyards and wine country

Jackie Braun's MOONLIGHT AND ROSES is a short tender romance that pits adversaries together and against each other. The scenery and language of viniculture and viticulture gives this romance a realistic and informative setting that complements the characters.

Jaye Monroe's entire life has been turned inside out when her father dies and his will is read. Alongside her father, Jaye has built the Medallion wine brand with her heart and soul. Her father's will turns the winery and vineyards over to her step-mother and gives Jaye her step-mother's house with all the antiques and items she despises. Jaye's step-mother makes matters worse by selling the vineyards and company to an outsider, Zack Holland. Zack, heir to a renowned prize-winning California winery, wants to strike out on his own and forget the pain of his family and past. When he encounters Jaye, a strong woman and a bit of a tomboy, he is dazzles by her looks, intelligence and spirit. Can the two of them work together for the good of Medallion when their ultimate business plans conflict so? When their physical attraction can no longer be denied, will they be forced to choose between love and business?

In MOONLIGHT AND ROSES, Jackie Braun creates emotional depth at the same time that the conflicting business interests of the hero and heroine create a fun, suspenseful romantic conflict. Readers will appreciate the strong intelligent Jaye as a heroine whose spirit shines in all she does. Great romance

This is the story of Jaye Monroe, whose stepmother sells her family's winery out from under her. New owner Zack Holland desperately needs a new start, and while he is shocked to learn Jaye was opposed to the sale, he can't afford to back down.

What worked so well with this book is that there was a lot of incentive for both characters to behave cruelly and immaturely, but they didn't. Put into a very difficult position, they earned their respect from each other and made the best of the situation. Watching them fall in love was a pleasure because they were both screwed-up yet good people who deserved their happy ending. And what a well-written happy ending it was.

Jackie Braun did her research when it came to the technicalities of owning and running a vineyard, and I appreciated all those touches of realism that brought the setting and the situations to life. She really transports the reader there.

This was my first book by this author and I'm very impressed.

This book provides an outstanding presentation of Silicon processing technology that is technically current, rich in detail, and most importantly, factually correct. The new edition of this book appears to have been completely rewritten, and covers every important area of Silicon processing in a comprehensive manner. I especially enjoyed that fact that in each chapter of the book the basic principles underlying a technology are explained first, and these explanations are then integrated into descriptions of the relevant technology (i.e. PVD, CVD, CMP etc.).
The two Lithography sections are beautifully done, and contain lucid explanations of concepts that I have not seen anywhere else.
For anyone who is seriously interested in semiconductor manufacturing, this book is a "must have". No other volume even comes close to being this comprehensive.

THE best set of technical references in this area

In my 25 years of semiconductor process development I have never come across such a complete and in-depth collection of device and process knowledge in a single place. Years ago we needed to spend many hours with the journals to extract the requisite information to supplement our laboratory efforts. These volumes synthesize the basics with the most modern techniques now employed in advanced technologies. In addition, many subtle processing difficulties are addressed as well which will be much appreciated by the researcher. Through the years I have purchased in excess of 100 text references and none comes as close to these in the total knowledge contained within. These volumes are intended for the researchers and engineers working in this field yet they are so very well written and easy to comprehend that any one with such an interest in this field can understand them. Study these volumes completely.

It took me quite long to realize the other prep company did not prepare me at all. I used this book to help me understand the concepts for the g. chem on the MCAT.

About the Author
Dr. Scott Calvin is a researcher and educator in the area of chemical physics. Since 1988, he has been helping students in the New York area to learn physics and chemistry through seminars, video tapes, books, and tutorials. At Hunter College, he was a key player in the development of an innovative two-year integrated physics, chemistry, and mathematics sequence designed for pre-medical students; material he developed for this course has been published in a nationally recognized journal of science education. Currently, as an Associate of the National Academy of Sciences, he performs research in the area of nanoscale materials at the Naval Research Lab in Washington, DC.

Jonathan Orsay graduated on the Dean’s list at Columbia University. In 1993 he began teaching MCAT prep for a large test prep company and quickly became their highest paid instructor and a major author and editor of their practice MCAT materials. Since then, he has lectured for thousands of hours across the country in all subjects tested by the MCAT. He has taken a real MCAT three times, and as a student he scored in the 90 percentiles on all sections. In 1996 and again 1997 he edited one of the best selling MCAT preparation books in the country. In 1997 he was one of the founders of EXAMKRACKERS, the most effective MCAT prep course in the country. He is a co-producer of the stunningly successful audio CD product Examkrackers MCAT Audio Osmosis with Jordan and Jon as well as being the author of six highly acclaimed books on MCAT preparation. Orsay is currently the Director of MCAT at EXAMKRACKERS.

MCAT THINKING

While this book is better than most MCAT guides on the market, it does have some flaws. PRAISE: The questions are excellent! Just like the MCAT! FLAW: Often the questions pertain to information not previously mentioned or reviewed in the previous passage. EXAMPLE: A question from the first section involved answer choices of London forces, hydrogen bonding, and dipole-dipole moments. None of these terms or concepts were discussed previously! SO: Basically you need to have a good foundation before you get this book. Once you do buy the book, IT DOES TEACH YOU HOW TO THINK LIKE THE MCAT!!! Just remember to review the knowledge elsewhere!
