a fathomless gift for the explorer

One day, Anthony Peake realized, through judicious accessing of the Brama O Mamma Matrix, that in every human being there slumber faculties to which he or she can attain the higher yoga awareness; the realisation that God resides not in the clouds; but behind your eyelids; in other words, every human being was God looking out onto the world. This book will get you high, you see, and you will really see!

A must-read book for anyone interested in the pineal gland

This is a must-read publication for anyone who is interested the long overlooked pineal gland. Of course the pineal gland secretes melatonin and it has long been suspected to secrete the psychoactive chemical DMT. Just after the publication of this book it was verified that the pineal gland of rodents does indeed produce DMT and it is most likely true for the human pineal gland as well, since human and rodent endocrine systems are very similar and the pineal gland of both species are made up of the same types of cells. This is opens a whole new dimension in the understanding and significance of the pineal gland which Mr. Peake approaches in a very methodical way. He first follows the thread of history and how the pineal gland has been held in high prominence in most advanced cultures since ancient times. He then presents present day medical and scientific research on the pineal gland and its connection to DMT, consciousness, biophotonic light, DNA intercommunication and quantum field phenomena. The pineal gland may indeed prove to be a "third eye"; just what it views, how it views and where it takes the viewer is the subject of a great deal of speculation. The Infinte Mindfield does an excellent job of presenting and explaining the many mysteries that surround the pineal gland, and this book is worthwhile reading for anyone who is interested in what may prove to be a new frontier for the human race.

Excellent and riveting guide to the psyche and cosmic consciousness

This is the fifth book by Anthony Peake which I have bought and thoroughly enjoyed reading.

As always, Peake is able to act as a riveting guide to the exploration of consciousness and the human and transcendent psyches.

As in his other books he blends science with an earnest and probing Socratic method which respects both empirical data and the human experience; this eclectic approach is what I have always admired in Peake's writing.

Phenomena Magazine has called this book "a classic in the making" and has said that it ought to be "required reading" for all who wish to understand better our consciousness and perception. They spoke truth. I highly, highly recommend this book.

I absolutely love this book!

This is a delightful engaging introduction to the world of mathematics, giving children and adults alike a glimpse of the wonderful adventures that lie beyond simple (and boring) drills. My 9 year old son, who doesn't like to read aloud, loves to say these poems with me. I would also recommend Math Talk to anyone looking for creative ways to expose math-phobes to the intriguing possibilities.
Poems for two voices are designed to be read aloud by two readers. Each reader reads from one of the two columns and lines written on the same line are said simultaneously.

Pure poetry in motion!

Pappas captures the poetry of math in this collection of, well, of poems! In the clean style of haiku, Pappas uses single words, brief terms, and action verbs to create a linguistic waterfall. Two (or three) readers speak their lines aloud. Like water rushing down a stream, the lines laugh and dance around each other, sometimes overlapping, sometimes colliding in bursts of life. These poems, read aloud by multiple voices will catch you up in the excitement and take your breath away. There are poems for numbers of all sorts, from prime to Pi, and mathematical ideas, like the Möbius strip. Dive in, the water feels good! Enjoy!

"Bill the Galactic Hero" is a perennial favorite of mine

"Bill the Galactic Hero" is a perennial favorite of mine. I first read it when I was an ensign in the Navy, and I made a point to read it at least once per year through my 25 year career. It helped me maintain a much healthier perspective in the face of the sorts of bureaucratic obstacles and administrative foul-ups that I encountered in posts both ashore and afloat, as I tried my best to live up to my oath of office.

Alas, at some point in the last couple of years my dog-eared copy was transported to the center of the nearest sun after I lent it to another soul in need of neural recollimation, so I needed to procure an alternate copy. Happily, not only did I find a reprint of this classic, but I was also able to procure this copy, complete with Harry Harrison's signature. This little treasure is now happily ensconced (in protective plastic) on my bookshelf with many other Harry Harrison books.

A double-handed salute to the late, great master!

A very odd book that's a parody of military science fiction; it's okay but not wonderful. Read it if you like such things.

This was an odd book, and I can only recommend it if you a) really like Harry Harrison, b) you like military parodies, and c) you like odd books.

I've heard about "Bill" for years, and for some reason never got my hands on a copy. I've read all of Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat books (the first few were the best) and Deathworld trilogy (all were excellent). Then I found this while wandering around the Kindle store and decided to give it a try.

It really doesn't make any sense, except as a parody. You never really get to care about Bill or relate to him, or the very peculiar universe he lives in, or its perpetual state of bureaucratic incompetence, and its never-ending war.

Once you accept the fact that nothing makes sense and just roll with it, the book is a quick read. There aren't many characters, the plots are very one-dimensional (straight line), and the dialog is minimal.

Consider this a quick read for a Harry Harrison fan, and you'll be good. It didn't suck. It never made me laugh either. A lot of people say this is the SciFi version of "Catch-22." Yeah. But it's very thin as a parody. "Bored of the Rings," this ain't. "Catch-22," this ain't. To be honest, Harrison has done better.

This book is made up of several short stories, by the way. There are other books about Bill, but I don't intend to read any more of them.

Oh: In 2014 some college film students made a live-action movie out of this book. The actors spend all their time in white space suits, so you can't see them -- and the sound is muffled, so it's hard to heard them. Still, it's impressive given that it was a student project. Gently tongue-in-cheek anti-military sarcasm of the 60's

Strange, how I had never heard of Bill the Galactic Hero, until I surfed my way by accident to this book one day. I knew of Harry Harrison and had read his "Stainless Steel Rat" and several of his short stories years ago. As a youth, I read mostly what was stocked on the bookshelves of the Dallas public libraries, and this sort of literature was probably not considered worthy, and so never crossed my consciousness.

In many ways, the book's humor is reminiscent of the style of that other 60's era book "Bored of the Rings" (another book that did not make an appearance in the Dallas public libraries, but which I discovered along with the National Lampoon, and other great humor, through a roommate in college).

It's a silly, gentle sort of parody, not the dark, tear into shreds, profanity laced, edgy sort of stuff that we get so much today.

Bill is a farmboy in an outlying planet of the Empire, studying to be a Technical Fertilizer Operator, when he is literally drug-gooned into the Imperial Star Troopers. And thus begins a series of misadventures where Bill becomes a fuse tender (his job is to change the large fuses when they blow under the stresses of battle) on board the spaceship Christine Keeler (I had forgotten this one and had to look it up - Christine Keeler was the call girl who brought down the British Secretary of War John Profumo in 1961 in a sex scandal), and almost by accident becomes a hero, loses a left arm in a space battle, gets the right arm of one of his buddies transplanted so that he has TWO right arms....etc....

You get the idea.

All in all, a fast read and an amusing story, and a reminder of the gentle humor of the 1960's.

This book is absolutly the best i ever read!

This book is the best book I have EVER READ in my entire life. My review can not give this book enough Justice. This book is even better than The Divine Healing Technician Manual by Curry R. Blake. Smith Wigglesworth and John G. Lake although amazing people of God, "I doubt that I couldn't do greater things". Now there are other books by ughhh Preying Medic but their all even combined don't even come close to this book! I got this book yesterday for my birthday and I just stated, "any sick amoung you that need healing, come forward". And three backsliders recommitted their lives to my personal Lord & Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth!

Gr 4–6—Anaya opens this keepsake volume with the classic New Mexico Christmas story "The Farolitos of Christmas" (1987), the heartwarming story of a beloved holiday tradition of lighting the way of Christmas pilgrims and a young girl's hope for her father's safe return from the war. C�rdova provides the colorful and warm new illustrations for this story. "Season of Renewal," Anaya's narrative of Christmastime in his native state, first appeared 30 years ago in the Los Angeles Times and recounts traditions that continue in New Mexico to this day, including the reenactments of revered Nativity stories Los Pastores and Las Posadas and family traditions of Misa del Gallo (Midnight Mass) and Mis Crismes (the phrase called out by children as they visit their neighbors to receive traditional gifts of candy, nuts, and fruit, much as trick-or-treaters do on Halloween). Finally, in "A Child's Christmas in New Mexico, 1944," Anaya presents readers with a poem in which he recalls his boyhood wonder and excitement at the Christmas family traditions, which are now bittersweet memories. About the Author
Rudolfo Anaya is the widely acclaimed author of more than thirty books including novels, children's books, short stories, and essays that explore Hispanic life and culture in New Mexico and the Southwest. He is best known for Bless Me, Ultima, for which he won the Premio Quinto Sol Chicano literature award in 1971. This classic book was adapted into a feature film in 2013. In 1993 Alburquerque won the PEN Center USA award for fiction. In 2001 Anaya received the National Medal of Arts in Washington, DC. He lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is professor emeritus of English at the University of New Mexico where he taught for thirty years. Anaya's children's books include Roadrunner's Dance, Serafina's Stories, The Santero's Miracle, The First Tortilla, and How Hollyhocks Came to New Mexico. Other books: Tortuga, Cuentos (MNM Press 1980), Zia Summer, Rio Grande Fall, Shaman Winter, Jemez Spring, and The Old Man's Love Story.

Amy C�rdova is a visual artist, educator, author, and a nationally recognized children's book illustrator. She has illustrated eighteen books for children, and written and illustrated two of her own titles. She has twice received the national Pura Belpr� Award for Illustration from the American Library Association and REFORMA. A sense of place, traditional cultural values, and the presence of spirit in everyday life are the core foundation of C�rdova's colorful and inspirational artistic vision. She lives in Santa Fe.
