The quality of communication makes this work art

This work is amazing! This work is a gem. The expressions and choice of words makes this really poetry. If the quality of communication is what makes something a work of art (LRH, "Art"), then this book qualifies as enduring art. Furthermore, there is this pervading earnestness that only comes from one who is invested in what he writes about; it is no mere intellectual juggernaut tour de force. Mind you, a dictionary must be kept close at hand to look up the words that may not be clearly understood in order to imbibe its nectar. It may not be light reading--but it is magnificent reading! This book is an exemplar of a quote by Leonardo in the "Introduction," "the noblest pleasure, the joy of understanding." There is enormous pleasure between the covers of this work at times even rapture!

Beware of the 99 cent version!

This book is wonderful, but if you like this book, avoid the cheap 99 cent version. So many typos, it can be hard to read sometimes. Even the cover reads "Phiosophy" (yes, no L in the word!). Be aware that there's a much better Kindle version that you can find on Amazon if you search with "Story of Philosophy Simon and Schuster". It costs a little more, but it's worth it.

Windows on the world

I read this when I was in high school, so it was my introduction to philosophy. I didn't understand much of it at the time, but stuck with philosophy and history (where Durant was also a major figure for me) in college and went on to teach both subjects. I bought this as a present for a young friend just entering high school and have told him it presents many windows. They will be dark for him now, but gradually he will begin to see wonderful things through some of them.

Growing old waiting

Story has the potential to be interesting, but the writer should have just created one book, not dole out the story in snippets that take 6 months to a year to read because the author hasn't released them in a timely manner.

As a reader, you forget what went on previously because too much time has passed between books. I'm dropping this series as it is taking too long to release the series and I don't enjoy having to go back and re-read books just to refresh my memory in order to be able to read the latest release.

After waiting so long for this part I found I could not put it up there with the first two parts. Yes it picked up from part two but it left me empty and wanting more and not just part four but more... I looking forward to part four only in the hopes that Emma, Max and Jack are brought back together to love and learn about each other as they are meant to...and promises promises made from this author leave much to be desired so I'm afraid to return to the dragon series until several books have been written so no waiting is not necessary

Don't even start! Series is promised but NEVER UPDATED!!!

I would not waste your time. If you read this, you will just get sucked into a story line that may never be finished. She claimed on her website that this Emma serial is already written but yet it took her a YEAR to publish the third installment. It's been 7 months and no hint of the 4th book.

This author (aka Roxie Rivera, or Lola Rivera) has literally 10+ books she has promised her readers. Some of these books are "already written" and will be ready in "upcoming weeks". Yeah. What a load of bull. Other works like Kostya were promised over TWO YEARS ago. Yup. She is YEARS behind and just keeps stringing her readers along.

She claims to be seriously ill but she had lied so frequently about her books, I don't believe anything she says any more.

Don't waste your time and money reading a serial story that may never see the light of day.
